Forevermark, Fabuwood and Wolf are the three lines we hand homeowners and contractors most often. They sit at different price points and they are not interchangeable. After 15 years and roughly 950 kitchens, here is how we actually decide between them.

Key Takeaways

  • Forevermark is the best value if you want all-plywood, soft-close, white shaker, fast.
  • Fabuwood is the all-around mid-range pick, more finishes, slightly better hardware.
  • Wolf is a step up in finish quality and warranty, slower lead time, costs more.
  • All three are all-plywood box, soft-close standard, KCMA-certified.
  • Lead times range from 2 days (Forevermark stock) to 4 weeks (Wolf Designer).

Contractor Insight

If the kitchen is rental or a flip, Forevermark Ice White or Uptown White. If the kitchen is owner-occupied mid-range, Fabuwood Allure or Galaxy. If the kitchen is owner-occupied long-stay or has visible hardware, Wolf Designer in any of the painted lines.

What Brooklyn customers actually order

Of the cabinets we shipped in the last 6 months, roughly 45 percent were Forevermark, 35 percent Fabuwood, 12 percent Wolf, and the rest split across custom shops. That mix matches the borough, lots of two-families and rentals, lots of mid-range owner remodels, a smaller premium tier.

Line-by-line breakdown

Each line in detail, what is good, what to know, where they fit.

Forevermark, the workhorse

All-plywood box, dovetailed drawers, full-extension soft-close glides on most lines. Strongest in Ice White, Uptown White, Pepper Shaker and Cinnamon Glaze. Stocked locally for same-week delivery on the common door styles. KCMA Environmental Stewardship certified.

Fabuwood, the all-rounder

Allure (full-overlay), Galaxy (shaker) and Nexus (slab) are the main lines. Wider color range than Forevermark including Indigo, Steel, Cobblestone and Onyx. Slightly heavier hinges, slightly better paint finish on the dark colors. Lead time 5 to 12 business days depending on color.

Wolf Designer, the step up

Painted maple, more substantial door rails and stiles, optional inset, deeper finish stack. Lead time 3 to 5 weeks. Higher per-linear-foot cost but holds up better in heavy-use family kitchens and has a longer warranty.

  • Box construction is the same across all three, the difference is finish stack and door material.
  • Wolf gets the nod when you can see the cabinet from the dining room or living room every day.
  • Forevermark is the safest pick on a tight schedule.

How we help you choose

It takes about 20 minutes at the showroom to land on a line.

  1. 1

    Open the door

We hand you a sample door from each line. Heft and finish tell you most of what you need to know.

  2. 2

    Open the drawer

Pull a drawer all the way out, push it back. Soft-close behavior is the tell.

  3. 3

    Pick the color

Forevermark and Fabuwood share several whites but they are not identical. Take samples home for a day in your lighting.

  4. 4

Check the lead time against your move-in

If you have 3 weeks, Wolf is off the table unless you accept a shorter color list.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Comparing Forevermark to a custom shop on price alone, they are different products.
  • Choosing Wolf for a flip, you will not recover the premium on resale.
  • Skipping the field measure on Fabuwood semi-custom, the modular sizes are forgiving but the fillers are not.
  • Picking the same white as your trim paint, you actually want a slight contrast.
  • Ordering inset on a tight budget, inset is a 25 to 40 percent upcharge.

FAQs

Is Forevermark really as good as Fabuwood?+

On the standard shaker, yes, the box is the same construction. Fabuwood pulls ahead on finish range and slightly on hinge quality, not on durability.

Why is Wolf so much more expensive?+

Solid maple door, deeper paint stack, better warranty, smaller-batch production. You feel the difference when you close the door.

Can I mix lines in the same kitchen?+

Technically yes, practically no. The whites will not match and the door reveals are different. Pick one line and stick to it.
