How a kitchen actually moves through our shop

Our process, week by week

Most Brooklyn kitchen jobs land at 6 to 10 weeks from contract to final walkthrough. This is what those weeks actually look like, written from the projects we ran this year, not a generic checklist.

  1. 1
    Day 0

Send a photo or walk in

A phone photo of the room or your contractor's drawing is enough to start. Walk-ins on Utica Ave get pulled samples within 10 minutes.

  2. 2
    Day 1 to 2

    Itemized quote back

Every cabinet, every slab, every box of tile, broken out. You get a PDF you can compare apples-to-apples against anyone else.

  3. 3
    Week 1

    Showroom decisions

About 45 minutes with Joseph. Door style, finish, stone, tile, sink, hardware, paint. We pull physical samples and a 2D sketch in the same sitting.

  4. 4
    Week 2

    Order placed, deposit taken

50 percent deposit locks the order. Stocked cabinets ship in 2 to 5 days, semi-custom in 3 to 6 weeks, custom 6 to 12.

  5. 5
    Week 3 to 6

    Cabinets land, install starts

We deliver to the job site. Your contractor or one of ours sets the boxes, levels, and anchors. We re-check the layout against the actual delivery.

  6. 6
    Week 6 to 7

    Stone templated

Once cabinets are set, we send a templater the same week. Laser-templated to 1/16 inch, sink and cooktop cutouts confirmed in writing.

  7. 7
    Week 7 to 8

    Stone installed, tile done

Stone install is a single day for most kitchens. Backsplash tile usually waits until stone is set so the bottom course can rest on the slab.

  8. 8
    Week 8 to 10

    Final walkthrough

We come back, check seams, tighten hardware, hand over care and warranty paperwork. Then your plumber and electrician finish hookups.
