Most Brooklyn kitchens have just enough room for an island if it is sized right. We design islands from 30 inches deep all the way up to 4-by-8-foot showpieces, cabinets and stone supplied as one package.

How we work

Confirm clearances
Min 36 inch walkway on the working side, 42 inch on the seating side. We measure and tell you what fits.

Pick the use case
Prep, seating, hidden trash, drawer microwave, undercounter wine. Use case drives the cabinet config.

Spec the top
Overhangs over 10 inches need corbels or a hidden steel bracket. We supply the bracket if needed.

Build and install
Base goes in first, then we template, fabricate and install the top.

Common island pairings
Timeline: Cabinet portion follows the cabinet lead time (2 days to 6 weeks). Stone adds 10 to 14 days after install. Most islands are done in 3 to 5 weeks contract to coffee.

FAQs
How big a kitchen do I need for an island?+
Plan on at least 12 by 14 feet for a working island with a 36 inch walkway around it. Smaller than that, a peninsula often makes more sense.
Can the top extend past the base for seating?+
Yes. Overhangs up to 10 inches without support, 10 to 14 inches with corbels, beyond that we install a hidden steel bracket inside the cabinet.
Do you put outlets in the island?+
We pre-cut the cabinet panel for outlets to NYC electrical code. Your electrician runs the wire and sets the device.
